Data Deletion Policy
Last Updated: Wednesday, 6 May 2026
1. Overview
At Joogoos, we respect your right to control your personal data. This policy outlines how you can disconnect a connected social media account, delete content you created, or request full deletion of your Joogoos account and all associated information.
2. Disconnecting a connected social media account (immediate, self-service)
If you only want to revoke Joogoos's access to a specific third-party platform (for example, YouTube, TikTok, Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, or X) without deleting your Joogoos account:
- Sign in to Joogoos.
- Go to Settings → Connected Accounts.
- Click Disconnect next to the platform you want to remove.
When you click Disconnect, Joogoos immediately calls the platform's OAuth revocation endpoint (for example, Google's https://oauth2.googleapis.com/revoke for YouTube) to invalidate the access token, then deletes the encrypted token from our database. The platform will no longer accept any request from Joogoos on your behalf, and Joogoos no longer holds the credentials to make one.
You can also revoke Joogoos's access directly from the platform's own account settings, including:
- Google / YouTube: https://myaccount.google.com/permissions
- Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/settings?tab=business_tools (find "Joogoos Social" and click Remove)
- Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/accounts/manage_access/ (find "Joogoos-IG" and click Remove)
- TikTok: from your TikTok settings under "Connected apps".
- LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/psettings/permitted-services
- X: from your X settings under "Connected apps".
3. Deleting individual content
AI-generated assets (images, videos, audio, posts) you created in Joogoos can be deleted at any time from inside the application. Once you delete an asset, it is removed from our database and the underlying file is queued for permanent removal from our storage backend within 30 days.
Note: deleting a piece of content from Joogoos does not remove copies you previously published to a third-party platform (for example, a video you uploaded to your YouTube channel). To remove those, use the third-party platform's own controls.
4. Requesting full account deletion
To delete your Joogoos account and all associated personal data, send an email to support@joogoos.com with the subject line: "Data Deletion Request".
Send the request from the email address linked to your Joogoos account so we can verify your identity. We may ask for additional verification to protect your data from unauthorised deletion.
5. What will be deleted
Once your identity is verified, we will permanently delete the following:
- Your account details, including name, email address, and authentication credentials.
- AI-generated content (images, videos, audio, posts) linked to your account, and the underlying files in our storage backend.
- OAuth access tokens and refresh tokens for every connected social media account. Where the platform exposes a revocation endpoint (Google, TikTok, Meta, LinkedIn, X), we additionally call it to invalidate the credentials on the platform side, not only locally.
- Profile and brand data you created inside Joogoos.
- Any other personally identifiable information (PII) we hold about you.
This process is irreversible. Account-deletion requests are typically completed within 30 days of identity verification.
6. What we may retain
In compliance with applicable laws and business requirements, some information may be retained after deletion, including:
- Payment and transaction records, where required by financial, legal, or tax obligations.
- Aggregated or anonymised data that cannot reasonably be linked back to you.
- Information needed to investigate abuse, resolve disputes, or enforce our Terms of Service.
- Records reasonably required to comply with a lawful request from a regulator or law-enforcement authority.
Retained data is stored securely and is not used for marketing, profiling, advertising, or for training artificial-intelligence or machine-learning models.
7. Data received from YouTube and Google APIs
Information obtained through Google APIs, including the YouTube Data API, is handled in accordance with Joogoos's Privacy Policy and the Google API Services User Data Policy, including its Limited Use requirements. Data received from YouTube APIs additionally adheres to the YouTube API Services Terms of Service.
When you disconnect your YouTube account or delete your Joogoos account, we delete the OAuth tokens for that account and call Google's revocation endpoint to invalidate them. We do not retain copies of YouTube data after disconnection except as strictly required by section 6 above.
8. Data received from Meta (Facebook and Instagram)
Information obtained through Meta's Facebook and Instagram APIs is handled in accordance with Joogoos's Privacy Policy, the Meta Platform Terms, and the Meta Developer Policies. The only data we collect through these APIs is what is strictly necessary to display the connected account in your Joogoos dashboard and to publish content you explicitly initiate: Facebook Page ID, Page name, Page access token (encrypted at rest), Instagram Business / Creator Account ID, Instagram username, and basic profile counts (followers, follows, media count).
Three ways to delete this data:
- Disconnect inside Joogoos — Settings → Connected Accounts → Disconnect on the Facebook or Instagram row. Joogoos immediately calls Meta's permissions-removal endpoint (
DELETE /me/permissions) to revoke the token on Meta's side, then deletes the encrypted token row from our database. - Revoke directly from Meta — for Facebook, visit https://www.facebook.com/settings?tab=business_tools and remove "Joogoos Social"; for Instagram, visit https://www.instagram.com/accounts/manage_access/ and remove the Joogoos-IG entry. Meta then notifies Joogoos through the Deauthorize Callback URL configured for our app, and Joogoos deletes the corresponding token row.
- Full account deletion — email support@joogoos.com with the subject "Data Deletion Request". We will revoke all Meta tokens, delete every record sourced from Meta APIs (Page metadata, IG profile counts, media references), and confirm completion within 30 days. The same Deauthorize Callback URL accepts a signed request from Meta to trigger this flow automatically.
We do not retain copies of Meta-sourced data after disconnection except as strictly required by section 6 above, and we do not use this data for advertising, profiling, sale to third parties, or training artificial-intelligence or machine-learning models.
